Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 10295
It was narrated by Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The best of you in the pre-Islamic period are the best of you in Islam, provided that they have understanding of the religion.”

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا تم میں سے جو لوگ زمانہ جاہلیت میں بہترین تھے وہ زمانہ اسلام میں بھی بہترین ہیں بشرطیکہ وہ فقیہہ بن جائیں۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira razi Allah anhu se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya tum mein se jo log zamana jahiliyat mein behtarin the wo zamana Islam mein bhi behtarin hain basharte ke wo faqeeh ban jayen.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ عَمَّارٍ ، قََالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ , يَقُولُ: قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " خِيَارُكُمْ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ خِيَارُكُمْ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ إِذَا فَقِهُوا" .
