Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 11068
Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) interpreted the phrase "Ummatan Wasatan" as "a moderate nation."

حضرت ابوسعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے " امۃ وسطاً " کی تفسیر امت معتدلہ سے فرمائی ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri Raziallahu Anhu marvi hai ke Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne "Umatan Wasatan" ki tafseer ummat mutadal'la se farmai hai.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَكَذَلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا سورة البقرة آية 143 قَالَ:" عَدْلًا".
