Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 11074
Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever says these words three times before going to sleep, "Astaghfirullah-alladhi la ilaha illa huwal-hayyul-qayyum wa atubu ilayh" (I seek forgiveness from Allah, besides Whom there is no god, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence, and I repent to Him), all his sins will be forgiven, even if they are like the foam of the sea, the grains of sand, and the leaves of the trees.

حضرت ابوسعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا جو شخص اپنے بستر کے پاس آکر تین مرتبہ یہ کہے " استغفر اللہ الذی لا الہ الا ھوالحی القیوم واتوب الیہ " اس کے سارے گناہ معاف ہوجائیں گے، خواہ سمندر کی جھاگ، ریت کے ذرات اور درختوں کے پتوں کے برابر ہی ہوں۔
Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri Raziallahu Anhu marvi hai keh Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya jo shakhs apne bistar ke paas aakar teen martaba yeh kahe "Astaghfirullah Alazi la ilaha illa Huwal Haiyul Qayyum wa Atubu ilaih" uske sare gunah maaf hojain ge, chahe samandar ki jhaag, ret ke zarat aur darakhton ke patton ke barabar hi hon.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الْوَصَّافِيُّ ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْعَوْفِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" مَنْ قَالَ حِينَ يَأْوِي إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ: أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ، وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ، ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ ذُنُوبَهُ وَإِنْ كَانَتْ مِثْلَ زَبَدِ الْبَحْرِ، وَإِنْ كَانَتْ مِثْلَ رَمْلٍ عَالِجٍ، وَإِنْ كَانَتْ مِثْلَ عَدَدِ وَرَقِ الشَّجَرِ".
