Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 11144
Abu Sa'eed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in the court, "O Messenger of Allah, there is an abundance of lizards in our area, what do you command us regarding them?". The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "It has been mentioned to me that a group among the Children of Israel was transformed (I hope that it is not the same case with them), " and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) neither ordered to eat it nor forbade it.

حضرت ابوسعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ مروی ہے کہ ایک آدمی نے بارگاہ نبوت میں یہ سوال عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ ﷺ ہمارے علاقے میں گوہ کی بڑی کثرت ہوتی ہے، اس سلسلے میں آپ ہمیں کیا حکم دیتے ہیں؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا کہ میرے سامنے یہ بات ذکر کی گئی ہے بنی اسرائیل میں ایک جماعت کو مسخ کردیا گیا تھا، (کہیں یہ وہی نہ ہو) اور نبی ﷺ نے اسے کھانے کا حکم دیا اور نہ ہی منع کیا۔
Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri Razi Allah Anhu marvi hai ki aik aadmi ne bargah e nabuat mein yeh sawal arz kiya ki Ya Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) humare ilaqay mein goh ki bari kasrat hoti hai iss silsilay mein aap humain kya hukum dete hain Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya ki mere samne yeh baat zikar ki gayi hai Bani Israeel mein ek jamaat ko maskh kar diya gaya tha kahin yeh wohi na ho aur Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne isay khanay ka hukum diya aur na hi mana kiya
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّا بِأَرْضٍ مَضَبَّةٍ، فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا؟ قَالَ:" بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ أُمَّةً مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مُسِخَتْ دَوَابَّ فَمَا أَدْرِي أَيُّ الدَّوَابِّ هِيَ" فَلَمْ يَأْمُرْ، وَلَمْ يَنْهَ.
