Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 11322
Abu Sa'eed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), "Who is the best of people?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "The believer who strives in the cause of Allah with his wealth and his life." The man asked, "Then who?" He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "The believer who stays in a valley, fearing Allah and protecting people from his evil."

حضرت ابوسعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ کسی شخص نے نبی ﷺ سے پوچھا کہ لوگوں میں سب سے بہترین آدمی کون ہے؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا وہ مومن جو اپنی جان و مال سے راہ اللہ میں جہاد کرے، سائل نے پوچھا اس کے بعد کون ہے؟ فرمایا وہ مومن جو کسی بھی محلے میں الگ تھلگ رہتا ہو، اللہ سے ڈرتا ہو اور لوگوں کو اپنی طرف سے تکلیف پہنچنے سے بچاتا ہو۔
Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ki kisi shakhs ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se poocha ki logon mein sab se behtarin aadmi kaun hai? Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya woh momin jo apni jaan o maal se raah Allah mein jihad kare, saail ne poocha is ke baad kaun hai? Farmaya woh momin jo kisi bhi mohalle mein alag thalag rehta ho, Allah se darta ho aur logon ko apni taraf se takleef pahunchne se bachata ho.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَوْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ مَعْمَرٌ شَكَّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَفْضَلُ؟، قَالَ:" مُؤْمِنٌ مُجَاهِدٌ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ"، قَالَ: ثُمَّ مَنْ؟، قَالَ:" ثُمَّ رَجُلٌ مُعْتَزِلٌ فِي شِعْبٍ مِنَ الشِّعَابِ، يَعْبُدُ رَبَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَيَدَعُ النَّاسَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ".
