Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 11461
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent a message to the Banu Lahyan tribe that one out of every two men should go out for Jihad, and both will receive the reward.

حضرت ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے بنو لحیان کے پاس یہ پیغام بھیجا کہ ہر دو میں سے ایک آدمی کو جہاد کے لئے نکلنا چاہئے اور دونوں ہی کو ثواب ملے گا۔
Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri raziallahu anhu se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Banu Lihyan ke pass yeh paigham bheja ki har do mein se ek aadmi ko jihad ke liye nikalna chahiye aur donon hi ko sawab milega.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرْبُ بْنُ شَدَّادٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى الْمَهْرِيِّ حَدَّثَهُ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ بَعْثًا إِلَى بَنِي لِحْيَانَ، مِنْ هُذَيْلٍ، فَقَالَ:" لِيَنْبَعِثْ مِنْ كُلِّ رَجُلَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَا، وَالْأَجْرُ بَيْنَهُمَا".
