Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 11511
Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw that the Companions were lagging behind, so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Come forward and follow me, and let those who come after you follow you, for the people will continue to lag behind until Allah makes them lag behind on the Day of Resurrection."

حضرت ابوسعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ نے صحابہ کرام کو دیکھا کہ وہ کچھ پیچھے ہیں تو نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا تم آگے بڑھ کر میری اقتداء کیا کرو، بعد والے تمہاری اقتداء کریں گے، کیونکہ لوگ مسلسل پیچھے ہوتے رہیں گے یہاں تک کہ اللہ انہیں قیامت کے دن پیچھے کر دے گا۔
Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri RA se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi SAW ne sahaba karam ko dekha ki wo kuch peeche hain to Nabi SAW ne farmaya tum aage barh kar meri iqtida kia karo, baad wale tumhari iqtida karenge, kyunki log musalsal peeche hote rahenge yahan tak ki Allah unhen qayamat ke din peeche kar dega.
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَشْهَبِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نَضْرَةَ الْعَبْدِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ: رَأَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ تَأَخُّرًا، فَقَالَ:" تَقَدَّمُوا فَائْتَمُّوا بِي، وَلْيَأْتَمَّ بِكُمْ مَنْ بَعْدَكُمْ، وَلَا يَزَالُ قَوْمٌ يَتَأَخَّرُونَ حَتَّى يُؤَخِّرَهُمُ اللَّهُ".
