Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 14248
Narrated by Jabir ibn Abdullah: We were on a journey with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). When we were about to enter the city upon our return, he said: "Wait! We will enter the city at night," meaning after sunset. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to them, "When you enter the city at night, do so discreetly, so that the woman whose husband is away can remove the hair from her body and the disheveled woman can adorn herself."

سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ہم لوگ ایک سفر میں نبی ﷺ کے ہمراہ تھے، واپسی پر جب ہم شہر میں داخل ہونے لگے تو فرمایا: ”ٹھہرو! رات کو شہر میں داخل ہوں گے“ یعنی مغرب کے بعد نبی ﷺ نے ان سے فرمایا کہ جب تم رات کے وقت شہر میں داخل ہو تو بلا اطلاع، تاکہ شوہر کی غیر موجودگی والی عورت اپنے جسم سے بال صاف کر لے اور پراگندہ حال عورت بناؤ سنگھار کر لے۔
Sayyidna Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki hum log ek safar mein Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke hamrah the, wapsi par jab hum shehar mein dakhil hone lage to farmaya: “Thahro! Raat ko shehar mein dakhil honge” yani Maghrib ke baad Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne unse farmaya ki jab tum raat ke waqt shehar mein dakhil ho to bila ittila, taake shohar ki ghair maujoodgi wali aurat apne jism se baal saaf kar le aur paraganda haal aurat banaao singhaar kar le.
حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سَيَّارٌ ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ، فَلَمَّا رَجَعْنَا، ذَهَبْنَا لِنَدْخُلَ، فَقَالَ:" أَمْهِلُوا حَتَّى نَدْخُلَ لَيْلًا أَيْ عِشَاءً لِكَيْ تَمْتَشِطَ الشَّعِثَةُ، وَتَسْتَحِدَّ الْمُغِيبَةُ".
