Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 14259
It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a person asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about the Ghusl (ritual bath) of Janabah (state of impurity after sexual intercourse). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, “I pour water over my head three times.”

سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ کسی شخص نے نبی ﷺ سے غسل جنابت کے متعلق پوچھا تو آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا کہ میں تو اپنے سر پر تین مرتبہ پانی ڈال لیتا ہوں۔
Sayyidna Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek martaba kisi shakhs ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se ghusl janabat ke mutalliq poocha to aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya ki main to apne sar par teen martaba pani daal leta hun.
حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْغُسْلِ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" أَمَّا أَنَا، فَأُفْرِغُ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلَاثًا".
