Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 14524
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I once heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying that when any one of you gives his brother the funeral shroud, he should shroud him well.

سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ جب تم میں سے کوئی شخص اپنے بھائی کو کفن دے تو اچھے طریقے سے کفنائے۔
Sayyidaana Jaabir razi Allaah anhu se maravi hai ki ek martaba main ne Nabi sallal laahu alaihi wasallam ko ye farmate hue suna hai ki jab tum mein se koi shakhs apne bhai ko kafan de to achchhe tareeqe se kafnaye.
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الزُّبَيْرِ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ:" إِذَا كَفَّنَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ، فَلْيُحْسِنْ كَفَنَهُ إِنْ اسْتَطَاعَ".
