Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 14531
It was narrated from Sayyidina Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The best charity is that which is given from what one has earned, and the best of your charity is that which you give to those under your care. And the upper hand is better than the lower hand.”

سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا کہ سب سے افضل صدقہ وہ ہوتا ہے جو کچھ مالداری رکھ کر ہواور صدقات میں آغاز ان لوگوں سے کیا کر و جو تمہاری ذمے داری میں ہوں اور اوپر والا ہاتھ نیچے والے ہاتھ سے بہتر ہوتا ہے۔
Syedna Jaber Radi Allaho Anhu se marvi hai ke Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ne irshad farmaya ke sab se afzal sadqa woh hota hai jo kuch maldari rakh kar ho aur sadqat mein aaghaz un logon se kya kar jo tumhari zimmedari mein hon aur upar wala hath neeche wale hath se behtar hota hai.
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" أَفْضَلُ الصَّدَقَةِ عَنْ ظَهْرِ غِنًى، وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ، وَالْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى".
