Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 14708
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went to visit a sick Ansar man at his home. A small stream was flowing nearby. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked for water to drink from them, saying: "If you have water left over from last night in a utensil, then it is fine. Otherwise, we will drink directly from the stream."

سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ کسی انصاری کے گھر اس کی عیادت کے لئے تشریف لے گئے اس کے قریب ہی ایک چھوٹی نالی بہہ رہی تھی نبی ﷺ نے ان سے پینے کے لئے پانی منگواتے ہوئے فرمایا: اگر تمہارے پاس اس برتن میں رات کا بچاہوا پانی موجود ہے تو ٹھیک ہے ورنہ ہم منہ لگا کر پی لیتے ہیں۔
Sayyidna Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) kisi Ansari ke ghar uski aiyadat ke liye tashreef le gaye uske qareeb hi ek chhoti naali beh rahi thi Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne unse pine ke liye pani mangwate huye farmaya: Agar tumhare pass is bartan mein raat ka bacha hua pani mojood hai to theek hai warna hum munh laga kar pi lete hain.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ ، حَدَّثَنِي فُلَيْحُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْمَدَنِيُّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَى قَوْمًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ يَعُودُ مَرِيضًا، فَاسْتَسْقَاهُمْ، وَجَدْوَلٌ قَرِيبٌ مِنْهُ، فَقَالَ:" إِنْ كَانَ عِنْدَهُمْ مَاءٌ قَدْ بَاتَ فِي شَنٍّ، وَإِلَّا كَرَعْنَا".
