Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 14728
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: "The most excellent charity is that which is done from surplus wealth. And begin your charity from those who are under your care. And the upper hand is better than the lower hand."

سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ سب سے افضل صدقہ وہ ہوتا ہے جو کچھ مالداری رکھ کر ہواور صدقات میں آغاز ان لوگوں سے کیا کر و جو تمہاری ذمہ داری میں ہواور اوپر والا ہاتھ نیچے والے ہاتھ سے بہتر ہوتا ہے۔
Sayyidna Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye farmate huye suna hai ki sab se afzal sadqa woh hota hai jo kuchh maldari rakh kar ho aur sadqat mein aaghaz un logon se kiya karo jo tumhari zimmedari mein hon aur upar wala hath niche wale hath se behtar hota hai.
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ:" أَفْضَلُ الصَّدَقَةِ صَدَقَةٌ عَنْ ظَهْرِ غِنًى، وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ، وَالْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى".
