Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 14818
Zaid bin Aslam narrates that during the time of tribulations, a new governor came to Madinah. By this time, Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) had lost his eyesight. Someone suggested to him, "It would be better if you moved aside." He came out, supported by his two sons, and said, "May that person be destroyed who frightens the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)." One of his sons asked, "Father, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has passed away, how can anyone frighten him now?" He replied, "I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say, 'Whoever frightens the people of Madinah, frightens what is between my two sides (meaning: his heart).'"

زید بن اسلم کہتے ہیں کہ ایام فتنہ میں کوئی گورنر مدینہ منورہ آیا اس وقت تک سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ کی بینائی ختم ہو چکی تھی کسی نے سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہا کہ اگر آپ ایک طرف کو ہو جائیں تو اچھا ہے اس پر وہ اپنے دو بیٹوں کے سہارے چلتے ہوئے باہر آئے اور فرمایا: وہ شخص تباہ ہو جائے جو نبی ﷺ کو خوفزدہ کرتا ہے ان کے کسی بیٹے نے پوچھا: اباجان نبی ﷺ تو وصال فرما چکے اب انہیں کوئی کیسے ڈرا سکتا ہے انہوں نے فرمایا: میں نے نبی ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے جو اہل مدینہ کو خوفزدہ کرتا ہے وہ میرے دونوں پہلوؤں کے درمیان کی چیز کو خوفزدہ کرتا ہے۔
Zayd bin Aslam kehte hain ki ayyam fitna mein koi governor Madina Munawwara aaya us waqt tak Sayyiduna Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ki beenai khatam ho chuki thi kisi ne Sayyiduna Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se kaha ki agar aap ek taraf ko ho jayen to achha hai is par wo apne do beton ke sahaare chalte hue bahar aaye aur farmaya: wo shakhs tabah ho jaye jo Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko khaufzada karta hai unke kisi bete ne poocha: Abajan Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) to wisal farma chuke ab unhen koi kaise dara sakta hai unhon ne farmaya: maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye farmate hue suna hai jo ahle Madina ko khaufzada karta hai wo mere donon pehluon ke darmiyaan ki cheez ko khaufzada karta hai.
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّ أَمِيرًا مِنْ أُمَرَاءِ الْفِتْنَةِ قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ، وَكَانَ قَدْ ذَهَبَ بَصَرُ جَابِرٍ، فَقِيلَ لِجَابِرٍ: لَوْ تَنَحَّيْتَ عَنْهُ، فَخَرَجَ يَمْشِي بَيْنَ ابْنَيْهِ فَنُكِّبَ، فَقَالَ: تَعِسَ مَنْ أَخَافَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: ابْنَاهُ، أَوْ أَحَدُهُمَا يَا أَبَتِ، وَكَيْفَ أَخَافَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ مَاتَ؟، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ:" مَنْ أَخَافَ أَهْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ، فَقَدْ أَخَافَ مَا بَيْنَ جَنْبَيَّ".
