Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 14861
Narrated by Sayyidina Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): Once, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked me, "Have you married?" I replied, "Yes." He asked, "A virgin or a previously married woman?" I replied, "A widow." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Why didn't you marry a virgin?" I replied, "My father was martyred with you in such and such battle, leaving behind some daughters. I did not consider it appropriate to bring in someone like them, so I married a widow so that she could look after them and sew their clothes if they were torn." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "You have thought well."

سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ نے مجھ سے پوچھا کہ کیا تم نے شادی کر لی میں نے عرض کیا: جی ہاں پوچھا کہ کنواری سے یا شادی شدہ سے میں نے عرض کیا: شوہر دیدہ سے نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: کنواری سے نکاح کیوں نہ کیا میں نے عرض کیا: کہ میرے والد صاحب فلاں موقع پر آپ کے ساتھ شہید ہو گئے تھے اور کچھ بچیاں چھوڑ گئے تھے میں نے ان میں ان ہی جیسی بچی کو لانا اچھا نہیں سمجھا اس لئے شوہر دیدہ سے شادی کر لی تاکہ وہ ان کی جوئیں دیکھ سکے اور قمیص پھٹ جائے تو سی دے نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: تم نے خوب سوچا۔
Sayyidna Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mujhse pucha ki kya tumne shadi kar li maine arz kiya: Ji haan pucha ki kunwari se ya shadi shuda se maine arz kiya: Shohar deeda se Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Kunwari se nikah kyun nah kiya maine arz kiya: Ki mere walid sahab falan mauqa par aap ke sath shaheed ho gaye the aur kuchh bachchiyan chhor gaye the maine un mein un hi jaisi bachi ko lana achcha nah samjha is liye shohar deeda se shadi kar li taaki woh un ki joru dekh sake aur qameez phat jaye to si de Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Tumne khoob socha.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبِيدَةُ ، حَدَّثَنِي الْأَسْوَدُ ، عَنْ نُبَيْحٍ الْعَنَزِيِّ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ: قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" يَا جَابِرُ، أَلَكَ امْرَأَةٌ؟"، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ:" أَثَيِّبًا نَكَحْتَ، أَمْ بِكْرًا؟"، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لَهُ: تَزَوَّجْتُهَا وَهِيَ ثَيِّبٌ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ لِي:" فَهَلَّا تَزَوَّجْتَهَا جُوَيْرِيَةً!"، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لَهُ: قُتِلَ أَبِي مَعَكَ يَوْمَ كَذَا وَكَذَا، وَتَرَكَ جَوَارِيَ، فَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ أَضُمَّ إِلَيْهِنَّ جَارِيَةً كَإِحْدَاهُنَّ، فَتَزَوَّجْتُ ثَيِّبًا تَقْصَعُ قَمْلَةَ إِحْدَاهُنَّ، وَتَخِيطُ دِرْعَ إِحْدَاهُنَّ إِذَا تَخَرَّقَ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" فَإِنَّكَ نِعْمَ مَا رَأَيْتَ".
