Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 15019
Narrated by Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in the valley of Nakhl. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) led the companions in the Zuhr prayer. The polytheists intended to attack the Muslims and said, "Leave them, after this prayer they will pray another prayer which is dearer to them than their own children." Sayyiduna Jibril (Gabriel) descended and informed the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about this. So, on this occasion, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) divided us into two rows and stood in front of everyone himself. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said the Takbir (Allahu Akbar) and we also said the Takbir with you. Then he bowed (Ruku) and we all bowed with you. Then when he raised his head from bowing and went into prostration, only those in the first row prostrated with you, while the second row stood facing the enemy. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the people of the first row stood up, the people of the back row prostrated. After that, the people of the back row came forward and the people of the front row went back. Then we all bowed together, and when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prostrated, the people of the first row also prostrated, and when they sat down, the people of the back row also prostrated.

سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ ہم لوگ نبی ﷺ کے ساتھ وادی نخلہ میں تھے نبی ﷺ نے صحابہ کو نماز ظہر پڑھائی مشرکین نے مسلمانوں پر حملہ کرنے کا ارادہ کیا اور کہنے لگے کہ انہیں چھوڑ دو اس نماز کے بعد یہ ایک اور نماز پڑھیں جوان کے نزدیک ان کی اولاد سے بھی زیادہ عزیز ہے سیدنا جبرائیل نے نازل ہو کر نبی ﷺ کو اس سے مطلع کیا چنانچہ اس مرتبہ نبی ﷺ نے ہمیں دو صفوں میں تقسیم کر دیا اور خود سب سے آگے کھڑے ہو گئے نبی ﷺ نے تکبیر کہی ہم نے بھی آپ کے ساتھ تکبیر کہی پھر رکوع کیا اور ہم سب نے بھی آپ کے ساتھ رکوع کیا پھر جب رکوع سے سر اٹھا کر سجدے میں گئے تو آپ کے ساتھ صرف پہلی صف والوں نے سجدہ کیا جبکہ دوسری صف دشمن کے سامنے کھڑی رہی جب نبی ﷺ اور پہلی صف کے لوگ کھڑے ہوئے تو پچھلی صف والوں نے سجدہ کیا اس کے بعد پچھلی صف کے لوگ آ گئے اور اگلی صف کے لوگ پیچھے آ گئے پھر ہم سب نے اکٹھے ہی رکوع کیا اور جب نبی ﷺ نے سجدہ کیا تو اب پہلی صف والوں نے بھی سجدہ کیا اور جب وہ لوگ بیٹھ گئے تو پچھلی صف والوں نے بھی سجدہ کیا۔
Sayyidna Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki aik martaba hum log Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke sath Wadi e Nakhla mein thay, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne Sahaba ko Namaz e Zohar parhayi. Mushrikeen ne Musalmanon par hamla karne ka irada kiya aur kehne lage ki inhe chhod do is Namaz ke baad ye aik aur Namaz parhain jo inke nazdeek in ki aulad se bhi zyada azeez hai. Sayyidna Jibraeel ne nazil hokar Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko is se mutalli kiya chunache is martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne humain do saffon mein taqseem kar diya aur khud sab se aage kharay ho gaye. Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne takbeer kahi humne bhi aapke sath takbeer kahi phir ruku kiya aur hum sab ne bhi aapke sath ruku kiya phir jab ruku se sar utha kar sajday mein gaye to aap ke sath sirf pehli saf walon ne sajda kiya jabke dusri saf dushman ke samne khadi rahi. Jab Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) aur pehli saf ke log kharay huye to pichli saf walon ne sajda kiya, iske baad pichli saf ke log aa gaye aur agli saf ke log peeche aa gaye. Phir hum sab ne ikatthey hi ruku kiya aur jab Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne sajda kiya to ab pehli saf walon ne bhi sajda kiya aur jab wo log baith gaye to pichli saf walon ne bhi sajda kiya.
حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي نَخْلٍ، فَصَلَّى بِأَصْحَابِهِ صَلَاةَ الظُّهْرِ، قَالَ: فَهَمَّ بِهِمُ الْمُشْرِكُونَ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ:" دَعُوهُمْ، فَإِنَّ لَهُمْ صَلَاةً بَعْدَ هَذِهِ هِيَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِمْ مِنْ أَبْنَائِهِمْ"، قَالَ: فَنَزَلَ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَخْبَرَهُ،" فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأَصْحَابِهِ، فَصَفَّهُمْ صَفَّيْنِ، وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ , فَكَبَّرُوا جَمِيعًا , ثُمَّ سَجَدَ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالْآخَرُونَ قِيَامٌ، فَلَمَّا رَفَعَ الَّذِينَ سَجَدُوا رُءُوسَهُمْ، سَجَدَ الْآخَرُونَ، فَلَمَّا قَامُوا فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ تَأَخَّرَ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَ الصَّفَّ الْأَوَّلَ، فَقَامَ أَهْلُ الصَّفِّ الثَّانِي , وَتَقَدَّمَ الْآخَرُونَ إِلَى الصَّفِّ الْأَوَّلِ , فَرَكَعُوا جَمِيعًا , فَلَمَّا رَفَعُوا رُءُوسَهُمْ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ , سَجَدَ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , وَالْآخَرُونَ قِيَامٌ , فَلَمَّا رَفَعُوا رُءُوسَهُمْ سَجَدَ الْآخَرُونَ".
