Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 1503
Muhammad bin Abdullah says that the year Sayyiduna Ameer Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) went for Hajj, that year he heard Sayyiduna Saad bin Abi Waqas (may Allah be pleased with him) and Ziad bin Qais mentioning Hajj Tamattu. Ziad started saying that Hajj Tamattu can only be performed by a person who is unaware and ignorant of Allah's command. On this, Sayyiduna Saad (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Nephew! You have said a very bad thing." Ziad said: "But didn't Sayyiduna Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) forbid it?". He (Saad) replied: "The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also performed Hajj in such a way that he combined Hajj and Umrah in a single journey, and we also did the same with him."

محمد بن عبداللہ کہتے ہیں کہ جس سال سیدنا امیر معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ حج کے لئے تشریف لے گئے، اس سال انہوں نے سیدنا سعد بن ابی وقاص رضی اللہ عنہ اور ضحاک بن قیس کو حج تمتع کا ذکر کرتے ہوئے سنا، ضحاک کہنے لگے کہ حج تمتع تو وہی آدمی کر سکتا ہے جو اللہ کے حکم سے نا واقف اور جاہل ہو، اس پر سیدنا سعد رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا: بھتیجے! تم نے یہ بہت بری بات کہی، ضحاک کہنے لگے کہ سیدنا عمر فاروق رضی اللہ عنہ نے تو اس سے منع کیا ہے؟ فرمایا: نبی ﷺ نے بھی اس طرح حج کیا ہے کہ ایک ہی سفر میں حج اور عمرہ کو جمع کر لیا، اور ہم نے بھی ان کے ساتھ ایسا ہی کیا ہے۔
Muhammad bin Abdullah kehte hain ke jis sal Sayyiduna Ameer Muawiya (رضي الله تعالى عنه) Hajj ke liye tashreef le gaye, uss sal unhon ne Sayyiduna Saad bin Abi Waqas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) aur Zahaq bin Qais ko Hajj Tamattu ka zikr karte huye suna, Zahaq kehne lage ke Hajj Tamattu to wohi aadmi kar sakta hai jo Allah ke hukum se na waqif aur jahil ho, iss par Sayyiduna Saad (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne farmaya: Bhatije! tum ne yeh bahut buri baat kahi, Zahaq kehne lage ke Sayyiduna Umar Farooq (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne to iss se mana kiya hai? Farmaya: Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne bhi iss tarah Hajj kiya hai ke ek hi safar mein Hajj aur Umrah ko jama kar liya, aur hum ne bhi un ke saath aisa hi kiya.
قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ , وحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَنْبَأَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ نَوْفَلِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ , وَالضَّحَّاكَ بْنَ قَيْسٍ عَامَ حَجَّ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ وَهُمَا يَذْكُرَانِ التَّمَتُّعَ بِالْعُمْرَةِ إِلَى الْحَجِّ، فَقَالَ الضَّحَّاكُ: لَا يَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ إِلَّا مَنْ جَهِلَ أَمْرَ اللَّهِ , فَقَالَ سَعْدٌ: بِئْسَ مَا قُلْتَ يَا ابْنَ أَخِي , فَقَالَ الضَّحَّاكُ: فَإِنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ قَدْ نَهَى عَنْ ذَلِكَ , فَقَالَ سَعْدٌ: قَدْ صَنَعَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَصَنَعْنَاهَا مَعَهُ.
