Abu Malik said that I heard my father saying, in reply to a question, that during the lifetime of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), we used to dye things with Wars and saffron.

ابومالک کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے اپنے والد صاحب سے ایک سوال کے جواب میں فرماتے ہوئے سنا کہ نبی ﷺ کے دور میں ہم درس اور زعفران سے چیزوں کو رنگتے تھے۔

حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ عِيسَى أَبُو بِشْرٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ الرَّاسِبِيُّ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيُّ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي وَسَأَلْتُهُ، فَقَالَ: كَانَ" خِضَابُنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْوَرْسَ , وَالزَّعْفَرَانَ".
