Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 15933
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Jarir that once he was sitting with his thigh exposed. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by and said: "Cover it, for the thigh is from the 'awrah."

سیدنا جرید سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ وہ اپنی ران کھولے بیٹھے تھے نبی ﷺ وہاں سے گزرے نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: اسے ڈھانپ لو کیونکہ ران ستر ہے۔
Sayyidna Jarid se marvi hai ki ek martaba woh apni ran khole baithe the Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) wahan se guzre Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: ise dhaanp lo kyunki ran satar hai.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ زُرْعَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جَرْهَدٍ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ جَرْهَدٍ ، قَالَ: مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَلَيَّ بُرْدَةٌ وَقَدْ انْكَشَفَتْ فَخِذِي، قَالَ:" غَطِّ فَإِنَّ الْفَخْذَ عَوْرَةٌ".
