Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 16632
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Dhil Asabi that once he submitted in the court of the Prophet: O Messenger of Allah! If we are tested with further life after you, then where do you command us to reside? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Make it incumbent upon yourselves to be at Bayt al-Maqdis, perhaps a generation from you will emerge that will continue to visit this Masjid morning and evening.

سیدنا ذی الاصابع سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ بارگاہ رسالت میں عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ!! اگر آپ کے بعد ہمیں مزید زندگی کے ذریعے آزمایا گیا تو آپ ہمیں کہاں رہنے کا حکم دیتے ہیں؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: بیت المقدس کو اپنے اوپر لازم کر لینا، ہو سکتا ہے کہ تمہارے یہاں کوئی نسل ایسی پیدا ہو جو صبح وشام اس مسجد میں آنا جانا رکھے۔
Syedna Ziulasabah se marvi hai keh ek martaba bargah risalat mein arz kiya: Ya Rasool Allah!! Agar aap ke baad hamein mazeed zindagi ke zariye azmaya gaya to aap hamein kahan rehne ka hukum dete hain? Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Baitul Muqaddas ko apne upar lazim kar lena, ho sakta hai keh tumhare yahan koi nasl aisi paida ho jo subah-o-sham is masjid mein aana jana rakhe.
قال عَبْد اللَّهِ بن أحمد: حدثني أَبُو صَالِحٍ الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ضَمْرَةُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ ، عَنْ ذِي الْأَصَابِعِ ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنْ ابْتُلِينَا بَعْدَكَ بِالْبَقَاءِ أَيْنَ تَأْمُرُنَا؟، قَالَ:" عَلَيْكَ بِبَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ، فَلَعَلَّهُ أَنْ يَنْشَأَ لَكَ ذُرِّيَّةٌ يَغْدُونَ إِلَى ذَلِكَ الْمَسْجِدِ وَيَرُوحُونَ".
