Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 16746
Narrated by Jabir bin Mut'im (may Allah be pleased with him): Once, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was on a journey. At a resting place, he asked, "Who will keep watch for us tonight so that we do not oversleep and miss the Fajr prayer?" Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) volunteered and sat facing east. The people fell sound asleep, and only the heat of the sun woke them up. They quickly got up, moved from that place, performed ablution, and Bilal gave the call to prayer. The people prayed two rak'ahs (Sunnah) and then offered the Fajr prayer.

سیدنا جبیر بن مطعم رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ سفر میں تھے، ایک پڑاؤ میں فرمایا کہ آج رات پہرہ کون دے گا تاکہ نماز فجر کے وقت ہم لوگ سوتے ہی نہ رہ جائیں؟ سیدنا بلال نے اپنے آپ کو پیش کر دیا اور مشرق کی جانب منہ کر کے بیٹھ گئے، لوگ بیخبر ہو کر سو گئے اور سورج کی تپش ہی نے انہیں بیدار کیا، وہ جلدی سے اٹھے اس جگہ سے کوچ کیا، وضو کیا، سیدنا بلال نے اذان دی، لوگوں نے دو سنتیں پڑھیں پھر نماز فجر پڑھی۔
Saina Jabir bin Mut'am Radi Allaho Anho se marvi hai ke aik martaba Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam safar mein thay, aik padao mein farmaya ke aaj raat pahra kon dega taake namaz fajar ke waqt hum log sote hi na reh jayen? Saina Bilal ne apne aap ko pesh kar diya aur mashriq ki janib munh kar ke baith gaye, log bekhabar ho kar so gaye aur sooraj ki tapish hi ne unhen bedar kiya, woh jaldi se uthe us jagah se کوچ kiya, wazu kiya, Saina Bilal ne azan di, logon ne do sunnattain parha phir namaz fajar parhi.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، وَعَفَّانُ ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ، قَالَ:" مَنْ يَكْلَؤُنَا اللَّيْلَةَ لَا نَرْقُدُ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ؟"، فَقَالَ بِلَالٌ: أَنَا، فَاسْتَقْبَلَ مَطْلَعَ الشَّمْسِ، فَضُرِبَ عَلَى آذَانِهِمْ، فَمَا أَيْقَظَهُمْ إِلَّا حَرُّ الشَّمْسِ، فَقَامُوا فَأَدَّوْهَا، ثُمَّ تَوَضَّئوا فَأَذَّنَ بِلَالٌ، فَصَلَّوْا الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ صَلَّوْا الْفَجْرَ.
