The Hadith of al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 1777
Abdul Muttalib bin Rabia narrates that once, Sayyidina Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) appeared in the court of the Prophet and submitted: "O Messenger of Allah! We go out and see the Quraysh talking amongst themselves, but upon seeing us, they fall silent." Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) became angry and the vein between his two eyes became prominent, then he said: "By Allah! Faith will not enter the heart of a person until he loves you for the sake of Allah's pleasure and because of your closeness to me."

عبدالمطلب بن ربیعہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ سیدنا عباس رضی اللہ عنہ بارگاہ رسالت میں حاضر ہوئے اور عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! ہم لوگ باہر نکلتے ہیں اور دیکھ رہے ہوتے ہیں کہ قریش کے لوگ آپس میں باتیں کر رہے ہیں لیکن ہمیں دیکھ کر وہ خاموش ہو جاتے ہیں، اس پر نبی ﷺ کو غصہ آیا اور دونوں آنکھوں کے درمیان موجود رگ پھول گئی، پھر فرمایا: ”اللہ کی قسم! کسی شخص کے دل میں اس وقت تک ایمان داخل نہیں ہو سکتا جب تک وہ اللہ کی رضا کے لئے اور میری قرابت کی وجہ سے تم سے محبت نہ کرنے لگے۔“
Abdulmuttalib bin Rabia kahte hain ke ek martaba syedna Abbas (رضي الله تعالى عنه) bargahe risalat mein hazir hue aur arz kiya Ya Rasul Allah hum log bahar nikalte hain aur dekh rahe hote hain ke Quresh ke log aapas mein baaten kar rahe hain lekin hamen dekh kar wo khamosh ho jate hain is par Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko gussa aaya aur dono aankhon ke darmiyan maujood rag phool gayi phir farmaya Allah ki kasam kisi shakhs ke dil mein us waqt tak iman dakhil nahin ho sakta jab tak wo Allah ki raza ke liye aur meri qurbat ki wajah se tum se mohabbat na karne lage
حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ ، قَالَ: دَخَلَ الْعَبَّاسُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّا لَنَخْرُجُ فَنَرَى قُرَيْشًا تَحَدَّثُ، فَإِذَا رَأَوْنَا سَكَتُوا، فَغَضِبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَدَرَّ عِرْقٌ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ:" وَاللَّهِ لَا يَدْخُلُ قَلْبَ امْرِئٍ إِيمَانٌ حَتَّى يُحِبَّكُمْ لِلَّهِ وَلِقَرَابَتِي".
