Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 18427
It is narrated by Nu'man, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to straighten the rows (of prayer) like we straighten arrows from our quivers. Once, when the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, intended to say Takbeer (start the prayer), he saw a man whose chest was protruding. The Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, "Straighten your rows, or else Allah will cause discord between you."

حضرت نعمان رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ صفوں کو اس طرح درست کرواتے تھے جیسے ہماری صفوں سے تیروں کو سیدھا کررہے ہوں ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے جب تکبیر کہنے کا ارادہ کیا تو دیکھا کہ ایک آدمی کا سینہ باہر نکلا ہوا تھا نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا اپنی صفوں کو درست (سیدھا) رکھا کرو ورنہ اللہ تمہارے درمیان اختلاف ڈال دے گا۔
Hazrat Noman Radi Allaho Anho se marvi hai keh Nabi Kareem Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam saffon ko iss tarah durust karwate thy jaise humari saffon se teeron ko seedha kar rahe hon ek martaba Nabi Kareem Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam ne jab takbeer kehne ka irada kiya to dekha keh ek aadmi ka seena bahar nikla hua tha Nabi Kareem Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam ne farmaya apni saffon ko durust (seedha) rakha karo warna Allah tumhare darmiyan ikhtilaf dal dega.
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْز ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُسَوِّينَا فِي الصُّفُوفِ، كَمَا تُقَوَّمُ الْقِدَاحُ، حَتَّى ظَنَّ أَنَّا قَدْ أَخَذْنَا ذَلِكَ عَنْهُ، وَفَهِمْنَاهُ، أَقْبَلَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ بِوَجْهِهِ، فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ مُنْتَبِذٌ بِصَدْرِهِ، فَقَالَ: " لَتُسَوُّنَّ صُفُوفَكُمْ، أَوْ لَيُخَالِفَنَّ اللَّهُ بَيْنَ وُجُوهِكُمْ" .
