Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 18432
Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Supplication is the essence of worship." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recited this verse: "Call upon Me; I will respond to you."

حضرت نعمان رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا دعاء ہی اصل عبادت ہے پھر نبی کریم ﷺ نے یہ آیت تلاوت فرمائی " مجھ سے دعاء مانگو، میں تمہاری دعاء قبول کروں گا "
Hazrat Numaan Razi Allaho Anho Se Marvi Hai Ke Nabi Kareem Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam Ne Irshad Farmaya Dua Hi Asal Ibadat Hai Phir Nabi Kareem Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam Ne Ye Aayat Tilawat Farmayi Mujh Se Dua Mango Main Tumhari Dua Qubool Karunga
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ ذَرٍّ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ ، عَنْ يُسَيْعٍ ، عَنْ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِنَّ الدُّعَاءَ هُوَ الْعِبَادَةُ"، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ: وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ سورة غافر آية 60" .
