Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 18602
Muhammad bin Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Once I saw a gold ring on the hand of Bara (may Allah be pleased with him). People were asking him why he was wearing a gold ring when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had forbidden it. He said: Once we were in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). There was a heap of spoils of war in front of you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was distributing. Among them were prisoners and some insignificant things. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) distributed all those things. Finally, this ring remained. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) looked up at his companions and then lowered his gaze. This happened three times. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called my name. I came and sat in front of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took the ring and held the part of my little finger towards the palm and said, "Take this and wear it. How can you tell me to take it off when Allah and His Messenger have given it to you to wear?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) told me, "Wear what Allah and His Messenger give you to wear."

محمد بن مالک رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ میں نے حضرت براء رضی اللہ عنہ کے ہاتھ میں سونے کی انگوٹھی دیکھی لوگ ان سے کہہ رہے تھے کہ آپ نے سونے کی انگوٹھی کیوں پہن رکھی ہے جبکہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے اس کی ممانعت فرمائی ہے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا کہ ایک مرتبہ ہم لوگ نبی کریم ﷺ کے پاس حاضر تھے آپ ﷺ کے سامنے مال غنیمت کا ڈھیر تھا جسے نبی کریم ﷺ تقسیم فرما رہے تھے ان میں قیدی بھی تھے اور معمولی چیزیں بھی، نبی کریم ﷺ نے وہ سب چیزیں تقسیم فرمادیں یہاں تک کہ یہ انگوٹھی رہ گئی نبی کریم ﷺ نے نظر اٹھا کر اپنے ساتھیوں کو دیکھا پھر نگاہیں جھکالیں تین مرتبہ ایساہی ہوا پھر نبی کریم ﷺ نے میرا نام لے کر پکارا میں آکر نبی کریم ﷺ کے سامنے بیٹھ گیا نبی کریم ﷺ نے وہ انگوٹھی پکڑی اور میری چھنگلیا کا گٹے کی طرف سے حصہ پکڑ کر فرمایا یہ لو اور پہن لو جو تمہیں اللہ اور رسول پہنادیں تو تم مجھے کس طرح اسے اتارنے کا کہہ رہے ہو جب کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے مجھ سے فرمایا تھا کہ اللہ اور اس کے رسول تمہیں جو پہنا رہے ہیں اسے پہن لو۔
Muhammad bin Malik Rehmatullah Alaih kehte hain ke ek martaba maine Hazrat Bara RA ke hath mein sone ki anguthi dekhi log unse keh rahe the ke aap ne sone ki anguthi kyon pehn rakhi hai jabke Nabi Kareem SAW ne iski mamanat farmai hai? Unhon ne farmaya ke ek martaba hum log Nabi Kareem SAW ke pass hazir the aap SAW ke samne maal ghanimat ka dher tha jise Nabi Kareem SAW taqseem farma rahe the in mein qaidee bhi the aur mamooli cheezen bhi, Nabi Kareem SAW ne woh sab cheezen taqseem farmadin yahan tak ke yeh anguthi reh gayi Nabi Kareem SAW ne nazar utha kar apne sathiyon ko dekha phir nigahen jhukaleen teen martaba aisa hi hua phir Nabi Kareem SAW ne mera naam lekar pukara mein aakar Nabi Kareem SAW ke samne baith gaya Nabi Kareem SAW ne woh anguthi pakdi aur meri chhungliya ka gutte ki taraf se hissa pakar kar farmaya yeh lo aur pehn lo jo tumhein Allah aur Rasool pehnaden to tum mujhe kis tarah ise utarne ka keh rahe ho jab ke Nabi Kareem SAW ne mujhse farmaya tha ke Allah aur uske Rasool tumhein jo pehna rahe hain ise pehn lo.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رَجَاءٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ عَلَى الْبَرَاءِ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، وَكَانَ النَّاسُ يَقُولُونَ لَهُ: لِمَ تَخَتَّمُ بِالذَّهَبِ وَقَدْ نَهَى عَنْهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ فَقَالَ الْبَرَاءُ : بَيْنَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ غَنِيمَةٌ يَقْسِمُهَا سَبْيٌ وَخُرْثِيٌّ، قَالَ: فَقَسَمَهَا حَتَّى بَقِيَ هَذَا الْخَاتَمُ، فَرَفَعَ طَرْفَهُ، فَنَظَرَ إِلَى أَصْحَابِهِ، ثُمَّ خَفَّضَ، ثُمَّ رَفَعَ طَرْفَهُ، فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِمْ، ثُمَّ خَفَّضَ، ثُمَّ رَفَعَ طَرْفَهُ، فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِمْ، ثُمَّ قَالَ:" أَيْ بَرَاءُ" فَجِئْتُهُ حَتَّى قَعَدْتُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، فَأَخَذَ الْخَاتَمَ فَقَبَضَ عَلَى كُرْسُوعِي، ثُمَّ قَالَ:" خُذْ الْبَسْ مَا كَسَاكَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ" . قَالَ: وَكَانَ الْبَرَاءُ يَقُولُ: كَيْفَ تَأْمُرُونِي أَنْ أَضَعَ مَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" الْبَسْ مَا كَسَاكَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ؟".
