The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 1877
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he was performing Tawaf of the Ka'bah with Sayyiduna Ameer Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Ameer Mu'awiyah began to touch all the corners of the Ka'bah. Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him, "Why are you touching these two corners when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not touch them?". He said, "No part of the Ka'bah should be left out." Thereupon Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) recited this verse: "Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad) you have a good example to follow..." [Al-Ahzab: 21] Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "You are right."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ وہ سیدنا امیر معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھ بیت اللہ کا طواف کر رہے تھے، سیدنا امیر معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ خانہ کعبہ کے تمام کونوں کا استلام کرنے لگے، سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے ان سے کہا کہ آپ ان دو کونوں کا استلام کیوں کر رہے ہیں جبکہ نبی ﷺ نے ان کا استلام نہیں کیا؟ انہوں نے فرمایا کہ بیت اللہ کے کسی حصے کو ترک نہیں کیا جا سکتا، اس پر سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے یہ آیت پڑھی: «﴿لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ﴾ [الأحزاب: 21] » ”تمہارے لئے پیغمبر اسلام ﷺ کی ذات میں بہترین نمونہ موجود ہے۔“ سیدنا معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ آپ نے سچ کہا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki ek martaba woh Sayyidna Amir Muawiya (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ke sath Baitullah ka tawaf kar rahe the, Sayyidna Amir Muawiya (رضي الله تعالى عنه) Khanah Kaaba ke tamam konon ka istelam karne lage, Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ne un se kaha ki aap in do konon ka istelam kyun kar rahe hain jabke Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne in ka istelam nahin kiya? Unhon ne farmaya ki Baitullah ke kisi hisse ko tark nahin kiya ja sakta, is par Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ne yeh ayat padhi: "(Laqad kana lakum fi Rasulillahi uswatun hasanah) [Al-Ahzab: 21] " ”Tumhare liye paighambar Islam (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki zaat mein behtarin namuna maujood hai.“ Sayyidna Muawiya (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne farmaya ki aap ne sach kaha.
حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ شُجَاعٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي خُصَيْفٌ , عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍَ ،" أَنَّهُ طَافَ مَعَ مُعَاوِيَةَ بِالْبَيْتِ، فَجَعَلَ مُعَاوِيَةُ يَسْتَلِمُ الأَرْكَانَ كُلَّهَا، فَقَالَ لَه: لِمَ تَسْتَلِمُ هَذَيْنِ الرُّكْنَيْنِ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْتَلِمُهُمَا؟ فَقَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ لَيْسَ شَيْءٌ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ مَهْجُورًا، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ سورة الأحزاب آية 21، فَقَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ: صَدَقْتَ".
