The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 1884
It is narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was suffering from his fatal illness, he would repeatedly cover his bright face with a sheet. When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) felt uneasy, we would remove the sheet from his face. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "May Allah's curse be upon the Jews and Christians, they have taken the graves of their Prophets (peace be upon them) as places of worship." Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) states that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was warning the people about this practice so that they would not indulge in it.

سیدنا عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما اور سیدہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ جب نبی ﷺ مرض الوفات میں مبتلا ہوئے تو بار بار اپنے رخ انور پر چادر ڈال لیتے تھے، جب آپ ﷺ کو گھبراہٹ ہوتی تو ہم وہ چادر آپ ﷺ کے چہرے سے ہٹا دیتے تھے، نبی ﷺ فرما رہے تھے کہ ”یہود و نصاری پر اللہ کی لعنت ہو، انہوں نے اپنے انبیاء علیہم السلام کی قبروں کو سجدہ گاہ بنا لیا“، سیدہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا فرماتی ہیں کہ دراصل نبی ﷺ ان کے اس عمل سے لوگوں کو تنبیہ فرما رہے تھے تاکہ وہ اس میں مبتلا نہ ہو جائیں۔
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a aur Sayyida Ayesha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) se marvi hai ki jab Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) marz-ul-wafat mein mubtala huwe to baar baar apne rukh anwar par chadar daal lete the, jab Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ghabrahat hoti to hum wo chadar Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke chehre se hata dete the, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) farma rahe the ki "Yahud o Nasara par Allah ki laanat ho, unhon ne apne ambiya Alaihimussalam ki qabro ko sajda gah bana liya", Sayyida Ayesha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) farmati hain ki darasal Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) un ke is amal se logon ko tanbih farma rahe the taake wo is mein mubtala na ho jayen.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهُمَا قَالَا: لَمَّا نُزِلَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، طَفِقَ يُلْقِي خَمِيصَةً عَلَى وَجْهِهِ، فَلَمَّا اغْتَمَّ، رَفَعْنَاهَا عَنْهُ، وَهُوَ يَقُولُ:" لَعَنَ اللَّهُ الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى، اتَّخَذُوا قُبُورَ أَنْبِيَائِهِمْ مَسَاجِدَ"، تَقُولُ عَائِشَةُ: فيُحَذِّرُهُمْ مِثْلَ الَّذِي صَنَعُوا.
