The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 1883
Narrated by Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was sitting with some of his companions (may Allah be pleased with them all), when a large star broke and brightened.... Then he (Ibn Abbas) narrated the complete Hadith, saying, “When our Lord decides to do something, the angels who are the bearers of the Throne start glorifying (Allah), and upon hearing their glorification, the angels of the nearest heaven also start glorifying (Allah). Thus, this chain reaches the heaven of the world. Then the angels of this heaven - who are close to the bearers of the Throne - ask them, "What did your Lord say?" They tell them, and in this way, the angels of each heaven tell the angels of the other heaven, until this news reaches the angels of the heaven of the world. From there, the Jinn pick up a word or two. These stars are thrown at them. Now, whatever they (the Jinn) convey correctly, it turns out to be true, but they often add to it from their own side.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ چند صحابہ کرام رضوان اللہ علیہم اجمعین کے ساتھ تشریف فرما تھے، اتنی دیر میں ایک بڑا ستارہ ٹوٹا اور روشن ہوگیا . . . . پھر انہوں نے مکمل حدیث ذکر کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ”جب ہمارا رب کسی کام کا فیصلہ فرما لیتا ہے تو حاملین عرش جو فرشتے ہیں وہ تسبیح کرنے لگتے ہیں، ان کی تسبیح سن کر قریب کے آسمان والے بھی تسبیح کرنے لگتے ہیں، حتی کہ ہوتے ہوتے یہ سلسلہ آسمان دنیا تک پہنچ جاتا ہے، پھر اس آسمان والے فرشتے - جو حاملین عرش کے قریب ہوتے ہیں - ان سے پوچھتے ہیں کہ تمہارے رب نے کیا کہا ہے؟ وہ انہیں بتا دیتے ہیں، اس طرح ہر آسمان والے دوسرے آسمان والوں کو بتا دیتے ہیں، یہاں تک کہ یہ خبر آسمان دنیا کے فرشتوں تک پہنچتی ہے، وہاں سے جنات کوئی ایک آدھ بات اچک لیتے ہیں، ان پر یہ ستارے پھینکے جاتے ہیں، اب جو بات وہ صحیح صحیح بتا دیتے ہیں وہ تو سچ ثابت ہوجاتی ہے لیکن وہ اکثر ان میں اپنی طرف سے اضافہ کر دیتے ہیں۔“
Sayyidina Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) chand Sahaba Kiram Rizwan Allahi Ajmaeen ke sath tashreef farma the, itni der mein ek bada sitara toota aur roshan hogaya . . . . phir unhon ne mukammal hadees zikar karte hue kaha ki "Jab hamara Rabb kisi kaam ka faisla farma leta hai to Hamileen Arsh jo farishte hain wo tasbeeh karne lagte hain, unki tasbeeh sun kar qareeb ke aasman wale bhi tasbeeh karne lagte hain, hatta ki hote hote ye silsila aasman dunya tak pahunch jata hai, phir is aasman wale farishte - jo Hamileen Arsh ke qareeb hote hain - un se puchte hain ki tumhare Rabb ne kya kaha hai? wo unhen bata dete hain, is tarah har aasman wale dusre aasman walon ko bata dete hain, yahan tak ki ye khabar aasman dunya ke farishton tak pahunchti hai, wahan se jinnaat koi ek aadh baat uchak lete hain, un par ye sitare phenke jate hain, ab jo baat wo sahih sahih bata dete hain wo to sach sabit hojti hai lekin wo aksar un mein apni taraf se izafa kar dete hain."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ , عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي رِجَالٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ، مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا جُلُوسًا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ، إِذْ رُمِيَ بِنَجْمٍ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ، قَالَ:" إِذَا قَضَى رَبُّنَا أَمْرًا سَبَّحَهُ حَمَلَةُ الْعَرْشِ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ، حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ التَّسْبِيحُ السَّمَاءَ الدُّنْيَا، فَيَقُولُونَ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَ حَمَلَةَ الْعَرْشِ لِحَمَلَةِ الْعَرْشِ مَاذَا قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ؟: فَيَقُولُونَ: الْحَقَّ، وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْكَبِيرُ، فَيَقُولُونَ: كَذَا وَكَذَا، فَيُخْبِرُ أَهْلُ السَّمَاوَاتِ بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضًا، حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ الْخَبَرُ السَّمَاءَ الدُّنْيَا، قَالَ: وَيَأْتِي الشَّيَاطِينُ، فَيَسْتَمِعُونَ الْخَبَرَ، فَيَقْذِفُونَ بِهِ إِلَى أَوْلِيَائِهِمْ، وَيَرْمُونَ بِهِ إِلَيْهِمْ، فَمَا جَاءُوا بِهِ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ فَهُوَ حَقٌّ، وَلَكِنَّهُمْ يَزِيدُونَ فِيهِ، وَيَقْرِفُونَ، وَيَنْقُصُونَ".
