The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 1900
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that during his final illness, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) once lifted the curtain of his room. The people were praying behind Sayyidina Abu Bakr Siddique (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "O people! Nothing remains of the good tidings of Prophethood except the good dreams that a Muslim sees or that are shown to him." Then he said: "I have been forbidden to recite the Quran while bowing or prostrating, so glorify your Lord in your bowing and devote yourselves to supplication in your prostration, it is hoped that your supplication will be answered."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے مرض الوفات میں ایک مرتبہ اپنے حجرے کا پردہ اٹھایا، لوگ سیدنا ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ عنہ کے پیچھے نماز پڑھ رہے تھے، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”لوگو! نبوت کی خوشخبری دینے والی چیزوں میں سوائے ان اچھے خوابوں کے کچھ باقی نہیں بچا جو ایک مسلمان دیکھتا ہے یا اس کے لئے کسی کو دکھائے جاتے ہیں“، پھر فرمایا: ”مجھے رکوع یا سجدہ کی حالت میں تلاوت قرآن سے منع کیا گیا ہے، اس لئے تم رکوع میں اپنے رب کی عظمت بیان کیا کرو اور سجدے میں خوب توجہ سے دعا مانگا کرو، امید ہے کہ تمہاری دعا قبول ہوگی۔“
Saina Ibne Abbas razi Allah anhuma se marvi hai ke Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne marz ul wafat mein ek martaba apne hujre ka parda uthaya, log Saidina Abu Bakr Siddique razi Allah anhu ke peeche namaz parh rahe the, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: “Logo! Nabowat ki khushkhabri dene wali cheezon mein siwaye in acche khwabon ke kuch baqi nahi bacha jo ek musalman dekhta hai ya uske liye kisi ko dikhaye jate hain”, phir farmaya: “Mujhe ruku ya sajda ki halat mein tilawat Quran se mana kia gaya hai, isliye tum ruku mein apne rab ki azmat bayan kia karo aur sajday mein khoob tawajjo se dua manga karo, umeed hai ke tumhari dua kabul hogi.”
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ سُحَيْمٍ ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: لَمْ أَحْفَظْ عَنْهُ غَيْرَهُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُهُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: كَشَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ السِّتَارَةِ، وَالنَّاسُ صُفُوفٌ خَلْفَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، فَقَالَ:" أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَبْقَ مِنْ مُبَشِّرَاتِ النُّبُوَّةِ إِلَّا الرُّؤْيَا الصَّالِحَةُ، يَرَاهَا الْمُسْلِمُ، أَوْ تُرَى لَهُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: أَلَا إِنِّي نُهِيتُ أَنْ أَقْرَأَ رَاكِعًا، أَوْ سَاجِدًا، فَأَمَّا الرُّكُوعُ فَعَظِّمُوا فِيهِ الرَّبَّ، وَأَمَّا السُّجُودُ فَاجْتَهِدُوا فِي الدُّعَاءِ، فَقَمِنٌ أَنْ يُسْتَجَابَ لَكُمْ".
