The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 1911
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) finished praying two rak'ahs of the Fajr prayer, he would lie down until he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would start snoring. The narrator said, we used to say to 'Amr: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, 'My eyes sleep but my heart does not sleep.'"

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ جب فجر کی دو سنتیں پڑھ لیتے تو لیٹ جاتے یہاں تک کہ آپ ﷺ خراٹے لینے لگتے، راوی کہتے ہیں کہ ہم عمرو سے کہتے تھے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ کا ارشاد ہے کہ ”میری آنکھیں سوتی ہیں لیکن میرا دل نہیں سوتا۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas raza Allah anhuma se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) jab Fajr ki do sunnatain parh lete to lait jate yahan tak ki aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) kharate lene lagte, ravi kahte hain ki ham Amr se kahte the ki Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ka irshad hai ki “meri aankhein soti hain lekin mera dil nahin sota.”
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي كُرَيْبٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: لَمَّا صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْ الْفَجْرِ، اضْطَجَعَ حَتَّى نَفَخَ، فَكُنَّا نَقُولُ لِعَمْرٍو إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ:" تَنَامُ عَيْنَايَ وَلَا يَنَامُ قَلْبِي".
