The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَا

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 1916
Our master Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him and his father, said in explanation of the following verse: "And We made not the vision which We showed you but a trial for mankind..." [Al-Israa 17:60] – “That dream which We showed you, We only made it as a trial for mankind.” He (Ibn Abbas) said that what is meant by this is the vision of the eyes which the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was shown on the Night of Isra' (Ascension).

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما آیت ذیل: «﴿وَمَا جَعَلْنَا الرُّؤْيَا الَّتِي أَرَيْنَاكَ إِلَّا فِتْنَةً لِلنَّاسِ﴾ [الإسراء: 60] » ”اس خواب کو جو ہم نے آپ کو دکھایا، لوگوں کے لئے ایک آزمائش ہی تو بنایا ہے“ کی وضاحت میں فرماتے ہیں کہ اس سے مراد آنکھوں کی وہ رؤیت ہے جس سے نبی ﷺ کو شب معراج دکھائی گئی۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ayat zeal: «﴿Wa ma jaalna ar-ru'ya allati araynaka illa fitnatal lin-nasi﴾ [al-Isra: 60] » ”Iss khwab ko jo hum ne aap ko dikhaya, logon ke liye ek azmaish hi to banaya hai“ ki wazahat mein farmate hain ki iss se murad ankhon ki woh ruyat hai jiss se Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko shab miraj dikhai gai.
(حديث موقوف) حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلّ: وَمَا جَعَلْنَا الرُّؤْيَا الَّتِي أَرَيْنَاكَ إِلا فِتْنَةً لِلنَّاسِ سورة الإسراء آية 60، قَالَ:" هِيَ رُؤْيَا عَيْنٍ رَآهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةَ أُسْرِيَ بِهِ".
