Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 19757
Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The heart is called the heart (qalb) because it is constantly turning (yaqlib). The example of the heart is like that of a feather lying at the root of a tree, being tossed this way and that by the wind."

حضرت ابوموسیٰ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا قلب کو قلب اس لئے کہتے ہیں کہ وہ پلٹتا رہتا ہے اور دل کی مثال تو اس پر کی سی ہے جو کسی درخت کی جڑ میں پڑا ہو اور ہوا اسے الٹ پلٹ کرتی رہتی ہو۔
Hazrat Abu Musa (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya qalb ko qalb is liye kehte hain ki woh palatta rehta hai aur dil ki misaal to is par ki si hai jo kisi darakht ki jadh mein pada ho aur hawa use ulat pulat karti rehti ho.
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، قال: أَخْبَرَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ ، عَن غُنَيْمِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، عَن أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: " إِنَّ هَذَا الْقَلْبَ كَرِيشَةٍ بِفَلَاةٍ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ، يُقِيمُهَا الرِّيحُ ظَهْرًا لِبَطْنٍ" ، قَالَ أَبِي: وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ.
