Hadith of Abu Barzah al-Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him)
حَدِيثُ أَبِي بَرْزَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 19803
Abu Barzah Aslami, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that when Abd al-Aziz ibn Khatal was clinging to the cover of the Kaaba, I was the one who killed him (at the command of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). And on the day of the conquest of Makkah, the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, had declared that all people were safe except for Abd al-Aziz ibn Khatal.

حضرت ابوبرزہ اسلمی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ جس وقت عبد العزی بن خطل غلاف کعبہ کے ساتھ چھٹا ہوا تھا تو (نبی (علیہ السلام) کے حکم سے) میں نے ہی اسے قتل کیا تھا اور فتح مکہ کے دن نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا تھا عبد العزی بن خطل کے علاوہ تمام لوگ مامون ہیں۔
Hazrat Abu Barzah Aslami Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ki jis waqt Abd-al-Aziz bin Khatal ghilaf-e-Kaaba ke sath chipka hua tha to (Nabi (alaihis salaam) ke hukum se) maine hi use qatl kiya tha aur Fath Makkah ke din Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya tha Abd-al-Aziz bin Khatal ke ilawa tamam log mamun hain.
قَالَ: وَقَتَلْتُ عَبْدَ الْعُزَّى بْنَ خَطَلٍ وَهُوَ مُتَعَلِّقٌ بِسِتْرِ الْكَعْبَةِ، وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ: " النَّاسُ آمِنُونَ غَيْرَ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى بْنِ خَطَلٍ" .
