Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 19881
Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that once he prayed behind Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), and his prayer reminded him of the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the two Sheikhs (Abu Bakr and Umar). The narrator said that he went with Imran and prayed behind Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). He ( Ali) would say "Allahu Akbar" every time he bowed and raised his head. When the prayer was over, Imran asked, "O Abu Najid! Who left this (practice) first?" He ( Ali) replied, "Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) left it when he became old and his voice weakened."

حضرت عمران بن حصین رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ میں نے حضرت علی رضی اللہ عنہ کے پیچھے نماز پڑھی، وہ ایسی نماز تھی جسے پڑھ کر مجھے نبی ﷺ اور حضرات شیخین کی نماز یاد آگئی، راوی کہتے ہیں کہ میں ان کے ساتھ چلا گیا اور ان کے ہمراہ حضرت علی رضی اللہ عنہ کے پیچھے نماز پڑھی، وہ سجدے میں جاتے اور سر اٹھاتے وقت ہر مرتبہ اللہ اکبر کہتے رہے، جب نماز سے فراغت ہوئی تو میں نے حضرت عمران رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا اے ابونجید! سب سے پہلے اس کس نے ترک کیا؟ انہوں نے کہا حضرت عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ نے، جبکہ وہ بوڑھے ہوگئے اور ان کی آواز کمزور ہوگئی۔
Hazrat Imran bin Husain raziallahu anhu kahte hain ki aik martaba maine Hazrat Ali raziallahu anhu ke peeche namaz parhi, woh aisi namaz thi jise parh kar mujhe Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) aur hazrat sheikhain ki namaz yaad aa gai, ravi kahte hain ki main unke sath chala gaya aur unke humrah Hazrat Ali raziallahu anhu ke peeche namaz parhi, woh sajde mein jate aur sar uthate waqt har martaba Allahu Akbar kahte rahe, jab namaz se faraghat hui to maine Hazrat Imran raziallahu anhu se poocha aye abujanid! sab se pehle is kis ne tark kia? unhon ne kaha Hazrat Usman raziallahu anhu ne, jab keh woh budhe ho gaye aur unki aawaz kamzor ho gai.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، قَالَ: " صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ صَلَاةً ذَكَّرَنِي صَلَاةً صَلَّيْتُهَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالْخَلِيفَتَيْنِ، قَالَ: فَانْطَلَقْتُ فَصَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُ، فَإِذَا هُوَ يُكَبِّرُ كُلَّمَا سَجَدَ وَكُلَّمَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الركوعِ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا أَبَا نُجَيْدٍ، مَنْ أَوَّلُ مَنْ تَرَكَهُ؟ قَالَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ حِينَ كَبِرَ وَضَعُفَ صَوْتُهُ تَرَكَهُ" .
