Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 19887
It is narrated on the authority of Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that I was suffering from many ailments at the same time. I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about praying while sitting. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The reward of praying while sitting is half of that of praying while standing, and the reward of praying while lying down is half of that of praying while sitting."

حضرت عمران بن حصین رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ مجھے بیک وقت بہت سی بیماریوں کی شکایت تھی، میں نے نبی ﷺ سے بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھنے کے متعلق پوچھا تو نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھنے کا ثواب کھڑے ہو کر نماز پڑھنے سے نصف ہے اور لیٹ کر نماز پڑھنے کا ثواب بیٹھ کر نماز پڑھنے سے نصف ہے۔
Hazrat Imran bin Husain (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki mujhe aik waqt bahut si bimariyon ki shikayat thi, maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se baith kar namaz parhne ke mutaliq poocha to Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya baith kar namaz parhne ka sawab kharay ho kar namaz parhne se nisf hai aur lait kar namaz parhne ka sawab baith kar namaz parhne se nisf hai.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الْخَفَّافُ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ حُسَيْنٍ الْمُعَلِّمِ , قَالَ: وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ حُسَيْنٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ رَجُلًا ذَا أَسَقَامٍ كَثِيرَةٍ، فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صَلَاتِي قَاعِدًا، قَالَ: " صَلَاتُكَ قَاعِدًا عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاتِكَ قَائِمًا، وَصَلَاةُ الرَّجُلِ مُضْطَجِعًا عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ قَاعِدًا" .
