Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 19918
Imam Muhammad bin Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) said that once, in the presence of Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him), people were discussing that the deceased is punished because of the crying of his neighbors. The people asked him how the deceased is punished because of the crying of his neighbors? Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has said this.

امام محمد بن سیرین رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ حضرت عمران بن حصین رضی اللہ عنہ کی موجودگی میں لوگ اس بات کا تذکرہ کر رہے تھے کہ میت کو اہل محلہ کے رونے کی وجہ سے عذاب ہوتا ہے، لوگوں نے ان سے پوچھا کہ میت کو اہل محلہ کے رونے کی وجہ سے کیسے عذاب ہوتا ہے؟ حضرت عمران رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا یہ بات تو نبی ﷺ نے کہی ہے۔
Imam Muhammad bin Sireen rehmatullah alaih kehte hain keh aik martaba Hazrat Imran bin Haseen (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ki mojoodgi mein log is baat ka tazkara kar rahe thay keh mayyat ko ahl muhalla ke rone ki wajah se azab hota hai, logon ne unse poocha keh mayyat ko ahl muhalla ke rone ki wajah se kaise azab hota hai? Hazrat Imran (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne farmaya yeh baat to Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne kahi hai.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ صُبَيْحٍ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ سِيرِينَ ، قَالَ: ذَكَرُوا عِنْدَ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ: " الْمَيِّتَ يُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ الْحَيِّ"، فَقَالُوا: كَيْفَ يُعَذَّبُ الْمَيِّتُ بِبُكَاءِ الْحَيِّ؟ فَقَالَ عِمْرَانُ: قَدْ قَالَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
