Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 19940
It is narrated on the authority of Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) that the verse regarding Hajj-e-Tamattu was revealed in the Quran, and we acted upon it along with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not prohibit it until his death, nor was any verse regarding its prohibition revealed in the Quran.

حضرت عمران بن حصین رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ حج تمتع کی آیت قرآن میں نازل ہوئی ہے، ہم نے نبی ﷺ کی معیت میں اس پر عمل کیا ہے، نبی ﷺ نے وصال تک اس سے منع نہیں فرمایا: اور نہ ہی اس حوالے سے اس کی حرمت کا قرآن میں کوئی حکم نازل ہوا۔
Hazrat Imran bin Husain (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Hajj Tamattu ki ayat Quran mein nazil hui hai, hum ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki maiyyat mein is par amal kya hai, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne wisal tak is se mana nahi farmaya: aur na hi is hawale se is ki hurmat ka Quran mein koi hukm nazil hua.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، قَالَ: " تَمَتَّعْنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمْ يَنْهَنَا عَنْهَا، وَلَمْ يَنْزِلْ فِيهَا نَهْيٌ" .
