Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 20061
It is narrated by Salma (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by a house in the courtyard of which a leather container was hanging. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked those people for water to drink, so they said, "This is the skin of a dead animal." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Tanning makes the skin pure."

حضرت سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ ایک ایسے گھر کے پاس سے گذرے جس کے صحن میں ایک مشکیزہ لٹکا ہوا تھا، نبی ﷺ نے ان لوگوں سے پینے کے لئے پانی مانگا تو وہ کہنے لگے کہ یہ مردہ جانوور کی کھال کا ہے، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا دباغت کھال کی پاکیزگی ہوتی ہے۔
Hazrat Salma ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ek aise ghar ke paas se guzre jis ke sahn mein ek mashkiza latka hua tha, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne un logon se pine ke liye pani manga to wo kahne lage ki yah murda janwar ki khal ka hai, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya dibaghat khal ki paakizgi hoti hai.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ جَوْنِ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بن المحبِّق : أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَى عَلَى بَيْتٍ قُدَّامُهُ قِرْبَةٌ مُعَلَّقَةٌ، فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الشَّرَابَ، فَقَالُوا: إِنَّهَا مَيْتَةٌ , فَقَالَ:" دِبَاغُهَا ذَكَاتُهَا" .
