Hadith of Salamah ibn al-Muhabbaq (may Allah be pleased with him)
حَدِيثُ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْمُحَبَّقِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 20067
It is narrated on the authority of Salma (may Allah be pleased with her) that once, on the occasion of the Battle of Hunayn, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by a house in whose courtyard a leather water bag was hanging. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked those people for water to drink. They said that it was (made) from the skin of a dead animal. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Tanning purifies the skin."

حضرت سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ عزوہ حنین کے موقع پر ایک ایسے گھر کے پاس سے گذرے جس کے صحن میں ایک مشکیزہ لٹکا ہوا تھا، نبی ﷺ نے ان لوگوں سے پینے کے لئے پانی مانگا تو وہ کہنے لگے کہ یہ مردہ جانور کی کھال کا ہے، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا دباغت کھال کی پاکیزگی ہوتی ہے۔
Hazrat Salma Razi Allaho Anho se marvi hai keh aik martaba Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam Gazwa Hunain ke mauqe par aik aise ghar ke paas se guzre jis ke sahn mein aik mashkizah latka hua tha, Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ne un logon se pine ke liye pani manga to woh kehne lage keh yeh murda janwar ki khaal ka hai, Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya dibaghat khaal ki paakizgi hoti hai.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْمُحَبِّقِ : أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَى عَلَى قِرْبَةٍ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ، فَدَعَا مِنْهَا بِمَاءٍ وَعِنْدَهَا امْرَأَةٌ، فَقَالَتْ: إِنَّهَا مَيْتَةٌ , فَقَالَ:" سَلُوهَا، أَلَيْسَ قَدْ دُبِغَتْ؟" فَقَالَتْ: بَلَى فَأَتَى مِنْهَا لِحَاجَتِهِ، فَقَالَ: " ذَكَاةُ الْأَدِيمِ دِبَاغُهُ" .
