مسند البصريين From the hadith of Samurah ibn Jundub, from the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace)
وَمِنْ حَدِيثِ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 20129
It is narrated by Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "By "Asr prayer" (Salat-ul-Wusta), the afternoon prayer is meant.".

حضرت سمرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا " صلوۃ وسطی " سے نماز عصر مراد ہے۔
Hazrat Samra (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya "Salatul Wusta" se Namaz e Asar murad hai.
وَعَنْ سَمُرَةَ , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " الصَّلَاةُ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ" .
