Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 20152
It is narrated on the authority of Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “An oath is binding only in the case of the one for whom it is taken.”

حضرت سمرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا اس شخص کے حق میں عمری جائز ہوتا ہے جس کے لئے وہ کیا گیا ہو۔
Hazrat Samra ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya is shakhs ke haq mein umri jayaz hota hai jis ke liye woh kya gaya ho.
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " الْعُمْرَى جَائِزَةٌ لِأَهْلِهَا" .
