The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2028
Abu al-Hakam said: Once I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, about the Nabidh [date drink] made in an earthenware jar. He replied that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, prohibited the Nabidh made in an earthenware jar and the gourd. Therefore, whoever wishes to consider the things prohibited by Allah, the Almighty, and His Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, as unlawful, then he should consider Nabidh as prohibited.

ابوالحکم کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ میں نے سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مٹکے کی نبیذ کے متعلق سوال کیا تو انہوں نے فرمایا کہ نبی ﷺ نے مٹکے کی نبیذ اور کدو کی تونبی سے منع فرمایا ہے، اس لئے جو شخص اللہ رب العزت اور اس کے رسول ﷺ کی حرام کردہ چیزوں کو حرام سمجھنا چاہتا ہے اسے چاہئے کہ نبیذ کو حرام سمجھے۔
Abu al Hakam kahte hain ke ek martaba maine Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se matke ki nabidh ke mutalliq sawal kiya to unhon ne farmaya ke Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne matke ki nabidh aur kaddu ki tunabi se mana farmaya hai, isliye jo shakhs Allah Rab-ul-Izzat aur uske Rasul (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki haram karda cheezon ko haram samajhna chahta hai use chahie ke nabidh ko haram samjhe.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ كُهَيْلٍ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْحَكَمِ ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ؟ فَقَالَ: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ، وَالدُّبَّاءِ، وقَالَ:" مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يُحَرِّمَ مَا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ فَلْيُحَرِّمْ النَّبِيذَ".
