The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2050
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: “There are three things that are obligatory upon me, but they are optional for you: Witr prayer, sacrificing an animal (even if not being wealthy enough to require it), and the Chast prayer.”

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ ”تین چیزیں ایسی ہیں جو مجھ پر تو فرض ہیں لیکن تمہارے لئے وہ نفل ہیں، ایک وتر، دوسرے (صاحب نصاب نہ ہونے کے باوجود) قربانی اور تیسرے چاشت کی نماز۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki maine Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye farmate huye suna hai ki "Teen cheezen aisi hain jo mujh par to farz hain lekin tumhare liye wo nafl hain, ek witr, dusre (Sahib-e-Nisaab na hone ke bawajood) qurbani aur teesre chast ki namaz."
حَدَّثَنَا شُجَاعُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، عَنْ أَبِي جَنَابٍ الْكَلْبِيِّ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ:" ثَلَاثٌ هُنَّ عَلَيَّ فَرَائِضُ وَهُنَّ لَكُمْ، تَطَوُّعٌ الْوَتْرُ، وَالنَّحْرُ، وَصَلَاةُ الضُّحَى".
