Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 20826
It is narrated on the authority of Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to lead us in obligatory prayers, he would neither make them excessively long nor excessively short, but rather moderate. And he used to delay the Isha (night) prayer slightly.

حضرت جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ ہمیں جب فرض نماز پڑھاتے تھے تو نہ بہت زیادہ لمبی اور نہ بہت زیادہ مختصر بلکہ درمیانی نماز پڑھاتے تھے اور نماز عشاء کو ذرا موخر کردیتے تھے۔
Hazrat Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) humain jab farz namaz parhate thay to na bohat ziada lambi aur na bohat ziada mukhtasar balkeh darmiyani namaz parhate thay aur namaz isha ko zara moakhir kar dete thay.
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَابِرٍ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " يُصَلِّي بِنَا الصَّلَاةَ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ، وَلَا يُطِيلُ فِيهَا وَلَا يُخِفُّ، وَسَطًا مِنْ ذَلِكَ، وَكَانَ يُؤَخِّرُ الْعَتَمَةَ" .
