Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 20845
It is narrated on the authority of Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that after offering the Fajr prayer, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would remain seated in his place until sunrise. He would recite Surah Qaf and similar Surahs in the Fajr prayer and would lead a short prayer.

حضرت جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نماز فجر پڑھنے کے بعد طلوع آفتاب تک اپنی جگہ پر بیٹھے رہتے تھے اور نبی ﷺ نماز فجر میں سورت ق اور اس جیسی سورتوں کی تلاوت فرماتے تھے اور مختصر نماز پڑھاتے تھے۔

حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ قَعَدَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ" . قَالَ:" وَكَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ بِ" ق وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ"، وَكَانَتْ صَلَاتُهُ بَعْدُ تَخْفِيفًا" .
