The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2103
It is narrated by Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stayed away from his pure wives for a month. When 29 days had passed, Jibril (peace be upon him) appeared in the court of the Prophet and said, "Your oath has been fulfilled and the month is also complete."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے اپنی ازواج مطہرات کو ایک ماہ تک چھوڑے رکھا، جب 29 دن گزر گئے تو حضرت جبرئیل علیہ السلام بارگاہ رسالت میں حاضر ہوئے اور عرض کیا کہ ”آپ کی قسم پوری ہو گئی اور مہینہ بھی مکمل ہو گیا۔“
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne apni azwaj mutahirat ko ek mah tak chhore rakha, jab 29 din guzar gaye to Hazrat Jibrael Alaihissalam bargah risalat mein hazir hue aur arz kiya ki "Aap ki qasam puri ho gayi aur mahina bhi mukammal ho gaya."
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْعَنْقَزِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ:" هَجَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نِسَاءَهُ شَهْرًا، فَلَمَّا مَضَى تِسْعٌ وَعِشْرُونَ، أَتَاهُ جِبْرِيلُ، فَقَالَ: قَدْ بَرَّتْ يَمِينُكَ، وَقَدْ تَمَّ الشَّهْرُ".
