Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 21283
Hasan Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said that once Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) intended to prohibit Hajj Tamattu, so Abi bin Ka'ab (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him, "You cannot do that, we have performed Hajj Tamattu with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), but the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not forbid us from it." So Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) refrained from this intention. Then he intended to prohibit striped Yemeni cloaks and fine clothes because the color of urine sticks to them, so Abi bin Ka'ab (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him, "You cannot do this either because these cloaks were worn by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) himself, and we also wore them during his blessed time."

حسن بصری رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ حضرت عمر فاروق رضی اللہ عنہ نے ارادہ کیا کہ حج تمتع کی ممانعت کردیں تو حضرت ابی بن کعب رضی اللہ عنہ نے ان سے فرمایا آپ ایسا نہیں کرسکتے ہم نے خو نبی ﷺ کے ساتھ حج تمتع کیا ہے لیکن نبی ﷺ نے ہمیں اس سے منع نہیں فرمایا چنانچہ حضرت عمر رضی اللہ عنہ اس ارادے سے رک گئے پھر ان کا ارادہ ہوا کہ دھاری دار یمنی چادروں اور حلوں سے منع کردیں کہ ان پر پیشاب کا رنگ چڑھایا جاتا ہے تو حضرت ابی بن کعب رضی اللہ عنہ نے ان سے فرمایا کہ آپ یہ بھی نہیں کرسکتے اس لئے کہ یہ چادریں تو خود نبی ﷺ نے زیب تن فرمائیں اور ہم نے بھی ان کے دور باسعادت میں پہنی ہیں۔
Hasan Basri rehmatullah alaih kehte hain ke aik martaba Hazrat Umar Farooq razi Allah anhu ne irada kya ke Hajj Tamattu ki mamanat kar dein to Hazrat Abi bin Kaab razi Allah anhu ne un se farmaya aap aisa nahin kar sakte hum ne to Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke saath Hajj Tamattu kya hai lekin Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne humain is se mana nahin farmaya chunancha Hazrat Umar razi Allah anhu is irade se ruk gaye phir un ka irada hua ke dhari daar Yamani chadron aur halon se mana kar dein ke in par peshab ka rang charhaya jata hai to Hazrat Abi bin Kaab razi Allah anhu ne un se farmaya ke aap ye bhi nahin kar sakte is liye ke ye chadriyan to khud Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne zeb tan farmayen aur hum ne bhi un ke daur basadat mein pehni hain.
حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، أَنْبَأَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنْهَى عَنْ مُتْعَةِ الْحَجِّ، فَقَالَ لَهُ أُبَيٌّ : لَيْسَ ذَاكَ لَكَ، قَدْ تَمَتَّعْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَمْ يَنْهَنَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ، فَأَضْرَبَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ عُمَرُ، وَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَنْهَى عَنْ حُلَلِ الْحِبَرَةِ، لِأَنَّهَا تُصْبَغُ بِالْبَوْلِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ أُبَيٌّ: لَيْسَ ذَلِكَ لَكَ قَدْ لَبِسَهُنَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَبِسْنَاهُنَّ فِي عَهْدِهِ .
