Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 21534
Uhan bin Qais (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that once I was in Madinah Munawwarah when I saw a man from whom people were shying away as soon as they saw him. I asked him, "Who are you?" He replied, "I am Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), the companion of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)." I asked him, "Then why are these people shying away from you?" He said, "I prevent them from hoarding wealth in the same way that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to prevent them."

احنف بن قیس رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ میں مدینہ منورہ میں تھا کہ ایک آدمی پر نظر پڑی جسے دیکھتے ہی لوگ اس سے کنی کترانے لگتے تھے میں نے اس سے پوچھا کہ آپ کون ہیں؟ انہوں نے بتایا کہ میں نبی کریم ﷺ کا صحابی ابوذر رضی اللہ عنہ ہوں میں نے ان سے پوچھا کہ پھر یہ لوگ کیوں آپ سے کنی کترا رہے ہیں؟ انہوں نے فرمایا میں انہیں مال جمع کرنے سے اسی طرح روکتا ہوں جیسے نبی کریم ﷺ روکتے تھے۔

حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَقْنَعِ ، عَنْ الْأَحْنَفِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، قَالَ: بَيْنَمَا أَنَا فِي حَلْقَةٍ إِذْ جَاءَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ ، فَجَعَلُوا يَفِرُّونَ مِنْهُ، فَقُلْتُ: لِمَ يَفِرَّ مِنْكَ النَّاسُ؟ قَالَ: " إِنِّي أَنْهَاهُمْ عَنِ الْكَنْزِ الَّذِي كَانَ يَنْهَاهُمْ عَنْهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" .
