Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 21639
They asked Zayd ibn Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) about a matter of inheritance: A woman died, leaving behind a husband and a full sister as her heirs. So, he gave half of the wealth to the husband and the other half to the sister. Someone spoke to him regarding this, so he said, "Once, I was in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he gave the same judgment."

حضرت زید بن ثابت رضی اللہ عنہ سے وراثت کا مسئلہ پوچھا گیا کہ ایک عورت فوت ہوئی جس کے ورثاء میں ایک شوہر اور ایک حقیقی بہن ہے تو انہوں نے نصف مال شوہر کو دے دیا اور دوسرا نصف بہن کو، کسی نے ان سے اس کے متعلق بات کی تو انہوں نے فرمایا کہ ایک مرتبہ میں نبی کریم ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر تھا، انہوں نے بھی یہی فیصلہ فرمایا تھا۔
Hazrat Zaid bin Sabit raziallahu anhu se wirasat ka masla poocha gaya keh ek aurat foot hui jis ke warisai mein ek shohar aur ek haqeeqi behan hai to unhon ne nisf maal shohar ko de diya aur doosra nisf behan ko, kisi ne un se is ke mutalliq baat ki to unhon ne farmaya keh ek martaba mein Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein hazir tha, unhon ne bhi yehi faisla farmaya tha.
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ ، وَعَطِيَّةَ ، وَضَمْرَةَ ، وَرَاشِدٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ زَوْجٍ، وَأُخْتٍ لِأُمٍّ وَأَبٍ، فَأَعْطَى الزَّوْجَ النِّصْفَ وَالْأُخْتَ النِّصْفَ، فَكُلِّمَ فِي ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ حَضَرْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَضَى بِذَلِكَ .
