The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2164
Narrated by Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), that he once spent the night at the house of his aunt, Umm al-Mu'minin Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her). He said, "I lay down to sleep on the width of the bed, while the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and his wife lay down on its length. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) fell asleep. When half of the night had passed, or a little before or after, he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) woke up and sat up, rubbing the sleep from his face with his hands. Then he recited the last ten verses of Surah Al-Imran. He then stood up and went to a hanging water-skin and performed ablution, performing it well. Then he stood up to pray. Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I also stood up and did as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had done, and I stood on his left side. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) placed his right hand on my head, took hold of my right ear and pressed it (and made me stand on his right side). He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) then prayed two rak'ahs. Then he prayed two rak'ahs in the same way, until he had prayed twelve rak'ahs. Then he prayed Witr. Then he lay down until the Mu'adhdhin came to him. When the Mu'adhdhin came, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood up and prayed two light rak'ahs. Then he went out and led the Fajr prayer."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ انہوں نے اپنی خالہ ام المومنین سیدہ میمونہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے یہاں رات گذاری، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں تکیے کی چوڑائی پر سر رکھ کر لیٹ گیا اور نبی ﷺ اور آپ کی اہلیہ محترمہ اس کی لمبائی والے حصے پر سر رکھ کر لیٹ گئے، نبی ﷺ سو گئے، جب آدھی رات ہوئی یا اس سے کچھ پہلے یا اس سے کچھ بعد کا وقت ہوا تو نبی ﷺ بیدار ہو کر بیٹھ گئے اور اپنے چہرہ مبارک کو اپنے ہاتھوں سے مل کر نیند کے آثار دور کرنے لگے، پھر سورہ آل عمران کی آخری دس آیات کی تلاوت فرمائی، پھر کھڑے ہو کر ایک لٹکے ہوئے مشکیزے کی طرف گئے، اس سے وضو کیا اور خوب اچھی طرح کیا اور نماز پڑھنے کے لئے کھڑے ہو گئے۔ سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے بھی کھڑے ہو کر اسی طرح کیا جیسے نبی ﷺ نے کیا تھا اور جا کر آپ ﷺ کے بائیں جانب کھڑا ہو گیا، نبی ﷺ نے اپنا داہنا ہاتھ میرے سر پر رکھا اور میرا داہنا کان پکڑ کر اسے مروڑنا شروع کر دیا (اور مجھے اپنی دائیں جانب کر لیا)، آپ ﷺ نے پہلے دو رکعتیں پڑھیں، پھر اسی طرح دو دو رکعتیں کر کے کل بارہ رکعتیں پڑھیں، پھر وتر پڑھے اور پھر لیٹ گئے، یہاں تک کہ جب مؤذن نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا تو نبی ﷺ نے کھڑے ہو کر دو رکعتیں ہلکی سی پڑھیں اور باہر تشریف لا کر فجر کی نماز پڑھائی۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki ek martaba unhon ne apni khala Ummulmomineen Sayyida Maimoona ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) ke yahan raat guzari, woh kehte hain ki mein takiya ki chori per sar rakh kar lait gaya aur Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) aur aap ki ahliya muhtarima iski lambai wale hisse per sar rakh kar lait gaye, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) so gaye, jab aadhi raat hui ya is se kuchh pehle ya is se kuchh baad ka waqt hua to Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) bedar ho kar baith gaye aur apne chehra mubarak ko apne hathon se mal kar neend ke asar door karne lage, phir Surah Al-Imran ki aakhri das ayat ki tilawat farmai, phir kharay ho kar ek latke hue mashkize ki taraf gaye, is se wazu kiya aur khoob acchi tarah kiya aur namaz padhne ke liye kharay ho gaye. Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a kehte hain ki maine bhi kharay ho kar isi tarah kiya jaise Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne kiya tha aur ja kar aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke bayen janib khara ho gaya, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne apna dahna hath mere sar per rakha aur mera dahna kaan pakar kar ise marorna shuru kar diya (aur mujhe apni dayen janib kar liya), aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne pehle do rakat padhen, phir isi tarah do do rakat kar ke kul barah rakat padhen, phir witr padhe aur phir lait gaye, yahan tak ki jab moazzin Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein hazir hua to Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne kharay ho kar do rakat halki si padhen aur bahar tashreef la kar fajr ki namaz padhai.
قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ , عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ مَخْرَمَةَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ أَخْبَرَهُ: أَنَّهُ بَاتَ عِنْدَ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَهِيَ خَالَتُهُ، قَالَ: فَاضْطَجَعْتُ فِي عَرْضِ الْوِسَادَةِ ," وَاضْطَجَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَهْلُهُ فِي طُولِهَا، فَنَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , حَتَّى إِذَا انْتَصَفَ اللَّيْلُ , أَوْ قَبْلَهُ بِقَلِيلٍ , أَوْ بَعْدَهُ بِقَلِيلٍ , اسْتَيْقَظَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَجَلَسَ يَمْسَحُ النَّوْمَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ بِيَدِهِ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ الْعَشْرَ الْآيَاتِ خَوَاتِيمَ سُورَةِ آلِ عِمْرَانَ، ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى شَنٍّ مُعَلَّقَةٍ، فَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْهَا , فَأَحْسَنَ وُضُوءَهُ، ثُمَّ قَامَ يُصَلِّي , قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: فَقُمْتُ، فَصَنَعْتُ مِثْلَ الَّذِي صَنَعَ، ثُمَّ ذَهَبْتُ، فَقُمْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ، فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ اليمنى عَلَى رَأْسِي، وَأَخَذَ أُذُنِي الْيُمْنَى فَفَتَلَهَا، فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ أَوْتَرَ، ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ حَتَّى أَتَاهُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ، فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ خَرَج، فَصَلَّى الصُّبْح".
